ABOUT US
Our History
BE F.L.Y. was founded in 2018 to inspire, encourage, and to provide young women with tools to lead healthy and productive lives.
In today’s society where our self-worth and the definition of beauty is based on what is seen on reality television and the amount of social media likes; many young women struggle to identify a place of acceptance or belonging. Unfortunately, this lack of confidence and self awareness has led to different mental health disorders and even suicide.
BE F.L.Y. was developed to help young women avoid these pitfalls. The program sets a standard, cultivates sisterhood, helps them to identify their self worth, and equips them with the tools to navigate through life successfully, fearlessly and with self love.

Our Founder
My name is De’Orlean Claiborne, I am the Founder of
BE F.L.Y. I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Howard University. I have over fifteen years of experience working with children and young adults. Growing up, I often felt that I would have avoided many of the pitfalls and challenges that I experienced, if I had an older sister or someone (a mentor) to help guide and prepare me for life and life’s lessons. As a child, I was exposed to various kinds of trauma which later impacted me as an adult. I battled with low self esteem, depression, lack of self confidence, and thoughts of suicide. My personal experiences are what made me passionate about developing this program.
